KATHMANDU, APRIL 12Record holding climbers including Nima Rinji Sherpa and Chhang Dawa Sherpa among others have successfully scaled Mt Annapurna this afternoon. Mt Makalu records season's first summit as Lakpa Sherpa makes eighth ascent Nepali, Korean climbers are all set for Jugal-I -II expedition According to Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director at 14 Peaks Expedition, 17-year-old Nima Rinji Sherpa scaled the world's tenth highest mountain completing his 11th peak above 8,000m.

The multiple-record-holding climber was accompanied by the rope fixing team members to the summit point."Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks, Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, Nima Tashi Sherpa and Ming Temba Sherpa also scaled the mountain opening a climbing route this afternoon," Thaneswar Guragai, SST's General Manager said. More climbers were also on their way to the summit push after a fixing team mobilized by SST established a climbing route to the summit point, Guragai added."In an aim to be the youngest climber to scale all 14 peaks, Nima Rinji Sherpa along with his climbing partner Pasang Nurbu left for Annapurna summit," Tashi Lakpa said, adding that he would then head for Mt Shisha Pangma, Mt Kanchenjunga and Mt Makalu. Nima Rinji has already set multiple records including the world's youngest to traverse Everest and Lhotse as well as the youngest climber to scale Lhotse, Manaslu real summit and K2 among others.Pioneer Adventure shared that Iryna Galay from Ukraine and Mingma Dorchi Sherpa, Co-founder of Pioneer Adventure have also reached the summit of Annapurna at around 12:30pm.

"They faced formidable challenges and overcame them with unwavering resolve.

Battling difficult terrain, unpredictable weather, and the ever-present risk of altitude sickness, they exemplified the true spirit of adventure and camaraderie," it shared.According to the Department of Tourism, at least 25 foreign climbers including 10 women representing two teams have obtained climbing permits for Mt Annapurna till date.

Over 50 climbers including Sherpa guides and support staff have already completed acclimatization rotations, Guragai said. .
